Dear Members and Friends,

The next meeting of the New England Chapter of HMAA will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 7PM. We are glad to announce that this meeting will be sponsored by Merck Co. Pharmaceuticals. This generous sponsorship will allow us to break from the potluck tradition this time. The meeting will take place at the Tomasso Trattoria Enoteca in Southborough. The restaurant is located on route 9 East at the corner of Breakneck Hill Road (next to the 9 85 intersection). Please click here to find more information about the restaurant.

Although the timing is unlike our traditional Friday evening gatherings, this move was necessary due to the prohibitively high Friday evening rental fee at Tomasso. We sincerely hope that most everyone will be able to attend. We anticipate at least 20 attendees, but the room may seat up to 36 guests. For appropriate planning, it is important that you send your RSVP as soon as possible about attending this event.

Joseph Vita, professor of medicine at Boston University School of Medicine will be our speaker. Dr. Vita will talk about current treatment guidelines of lipid disorders.

Once the sponsored scientific program is completed, we will continue with our regular agenda. The agenda will include information about current HMAA news in the wake of the annual meeting cancelled due to hurricane activities. In addition, we will discuss the 2006 NEC meeting schedule and other issues pertaining to our membership.

We hope to meet you on December 8. Please do not forget to send your RSVP.

Best regards,

Ildikó Halász, MD, President

Ágnes Virga, MD, Secretary
